Sonic Boom and Audible, Infrasonic and Ultrasonic waves.

            ๐Ÿ‘‰Sonic Boom ๐Ÿ‘ˆ

When a body moves with a speed greater than the speed of sound in air it is said to be travelling at supersonic speed. Jet fighters often travel at supersonic speed and when they do so they producer sharp load sound called is sonic boom. Enormous energy is produced when a object travels at a supersonic speed. This energy is propagated as a sharp and load sound, known as a sonic boom. Sony boom is an impulsive noise similar to thunder.

Speed of object > speed of sound

Q) An eco is heard in 3 second. What is the distance of the reflecting surface from the source, given that the speed of sound is 342 m/s.

             A)๐Ÿ‘‰Audible Range๐Ÿ‘ˆ

The human ear is sensitive to sound wave of frequency between 20 Hz to 20 KHz . This range is known as audible range.

Eg:- sound produced by vibrating sitar, guitar, organ pipes, flutes, shehnai etc.

20Hz(Audible sound) 20,000Hz

          B)๐Ÿ‘‰ Infrasonic wave๐Ÿ‘ˆ

A longitudinal wave whose frequency is below the audible range i.e. 20Hz, is called an Infrasonic wave.

It is generally generated by a large source.

Eg:- waves generated during earthquake.
